In the last couple of weeks, a few American politicians have announced that will be standing in the presidential elections. The election day they are standing in is still 18 months away, that means the election campaign is 18 months long! Suddenly the two months of TV debates, constant interviews and Facebook posts that we have had in the lead up to the General Election doesn't seem that bad.

“It's my policy”, “you'll find it in our policy statement”. MPs often refer to two big things in the run up to an election, their manifesto and their policies. With every party having a different set of policies, how do we know which ones are right, which are wrong, and who we should vote for?

If someone was to look back at every choice you've made in the past five years, how would they feel? Could you defend every choice you've made? Right now that's exactly what is happening to every MP who is standing for re-election in their local area. They are expected to be able to explain the way they have voted in parliament, and to prove they have represented their local area during the last five years. Not everyone will agree with the choices they have made, and everyone they meet on the campaign trail will have different views on life, and different party alliances.

A partnership blog written by Rosie from Fusion

Youth workers, I admire you. Your time is spread in so many different directions and it’s you who inspires the church leaders of tomorrow. What a thrilling job you have.

Acts 2:42-47

‘Sometimes people think church is like a baseball bat. For most of the time they play nice little games with their friends. Then once a year they go out into the High Street and hit someone over the head with it.’ - Milton Jones

Last year young people from all over the UK applied to us at ALOVE for money from our Youth Participation Fund. This fund was set up so that young people could identify an idea/programme/event etc. that they were passionate about bringing into being and successful applications were given money to make this happen!

We will be profiling some of the corps that were given money through the fund over the next few months on our website so that you can see all the great things have been happening!

As much as it pains me to admit, I'm getting older and so in picking a cultural reference for an ALOVE blog for young people I've landed on a film that was released in a year when a lot of you weren't even born but stick with me it should all make sense...hopefully.
