There is a mind-set among some people about what worship is, and I don’t think it is necessarily true. Singing, dancing, playing music, praying and bible reading are all a part of worship, and in my experience a lot of people think that those are the only forms of worship. However, I believe that no matter what it is we do in our lives, as long as it is good and true and we represent God through it, worship can be what you make it. Sport, baking, art. Anything we do where we can display what God can do in our lives.

Today I worked out that I have, rather depressingly, spent the last nine Junes and Julys of my life revising for and sitting exams. All the way from GCSE to MSc exams, I have spent hours (if not days!) revising and using up countless biros, scribbling over a trees-worth of paper and eating a ridiculous amount of comfort food. And after doing exams for so long, I don’t think twice about them. In fact the other day I had to really try hard to even motivate myself to finish writing a paper.

Youth workers, I admire you. Your time is spread in so many different directions and it’s you who inspires the church leaders of tomorrow. What a thrilling job you have.

‘When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.’ Matthew 18:19-20 (MSG)

Ideas for praying with a friend:

Thank- you so much to everyone who came along to our Big Day Out at a very sunny Thorpe Park on Saturday 28th March. We loved every minute of the day and we hope you did too? To help us in our planning for future events, we really need to hear exactly what you thought about the day. If you could spend 3 minutes filling in this very short survey we would really appreciate it!

‘X Factor’ finalist JAHMÉNE DOUGLAS tells Renée Davis how singing helped him overcome a traumatic past and how his faith affects his music

ON the final night of The X Factor last year, Jahméne Douglas stepped onstage. He sang ‘Angels’ and ‘Move on up’ and duetted with his mentor Nicole Scherzinger in ‘The Greatest Love of All’. Nicole cried. The audience cheered. Would he be the X Factor winner? How would the public vote?

It was an exciting night for the shy guy with the big voice. But life had not always been so positive for Jahméne.

I’m Adam Howie, I live in Edinburgh and attend Gorgie Corps.

I first got into art as a kid when my parents got me to draw to keep me quiet during the services. As I grew up I kept my love for art but I never did much with it; it remained a constant part of my life, just not one that I focused on. Then in 2006 I had the opportunity to try being an artist full time, so I took the step of faith and started working for myself, rekindling my love not just for creating art but also for studying it.
