Made To Be
Our project is for girls aged 12+
It offers you a range of resources designed to help you think about your own identity and specific issues that may be of concern in your own life or the life of a friend.
You will get a glimpse of what life can be like for a girl struggling with concerns of identity, self-harm, sexual exploitation, depression, eating disorders and emotional abuse through six animated stories narrated by fictional characters. The stories aim to act as a tool to help you stop, think and reflect.
Alongside the animations you will find a 60 day journal to complete that provides activities that help you to reflect on everyday issues as well as your general emotional wellbeing. The focus is to help you build up your resilience, as well as pinpointing where the potential difficulties are in your life and encouraging you to reflect on how you can deal with this.
In addition to these two resources, provides group session material comprising of activities to accompany the animations, faith based elements (in the form of a prayer guide) and the opportunity to ‘go deeper’ into various topics with the help of specialist expertise in the form of videos. These session plans can be used in a girls group, school, church or youth group setting.
If at any point any issues are raised that you feel you want to talk to someone about then we recommend that you seek help and support. Calling Childline on 0800 1111 is a good place to start if you are not sure who else you could speak to.
We hope that by using the resource you will find this to be a helpful and empowering experience and that you will learn lots of positive things about yourself along the way as well as how to deal with some of the big stuff if that is something you are facing at the moment. We want to help support you to discover who you are !
