As you are aware, before the beginning of the East Midlands and Anglia Summer School, we informed you that this would be the last year this event would be a joint endeavour by the divisions.
Following a fantastic week together, the students expressed a desire to remain together into the future which was backed up by many parents, corps officers and youth leaders. The decision was made to review this action and discuss the implications of a split at this stage.
Live Below the Line is an awareness and fundraising campaign which challenges participants to spend no more than £1 a day on all their food and drink for 5 days. This is to raise awareness about the 1.2 billion people in our world today who must live on the equivalent of £1 a day for everything they need to survive and also to raise money for the work of The Salvation Army International Development.
This year, each Divisional Youth Officer is setting up a team of participants and competing against each other to raise money. I want to invite YOU to join us.
2014 is a year of prayer for ALOVE in Anglia Division
Our theme name is iPray (as chosen by you!). We'll be spending the year learning more about prayer, raising our expectations of prayer, and having a go at praying. As well as a major focus of our Youth Councils and Summer School events, we're also hosting local prayer events for you to be involved with throughout the year.
Taking place on Sunday 23rd March, ALOVE Anglia Youth Councils is an event for everyone aged 12-25 years and their leaders. We aim to have a day of fellowship and worship, reconnecting with old friends and making new friends.
Our speaker for the day is Lt Cor van der Woude from Sanctuary 21 in Durham, and we'll be spending the day focussing on our Divisional theme for the year: iPray.
The day starts at 10.30am with Morning worship, and will end at 5.30pm after the final worship session.
